Who He Came to Save

Here in this area you find something very simple and there is nothing to reference this to in the Word. But just a thought.

Isaiah 11:1-9
Then a shoot will grow from the stump of Jesse,
and a branch from his roots will bear fruit.
2 The Spirit of the Lord will rest on Him—
a Spirit of wisdom and understanding,
a Spirit of counsel and strength,
a Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord.
3 His delight will be in the fear of the Lord.
He will not judge
by what He sees with His eyes,
He will not execute justice
by what He hears with His ears,
4 but He will judge the poor righteously
and execute justice for the oppressed of the land.
He will strike the land
with discipline[a] from His mouth,
and He will kill the wicked
with a command[b] from His lips.
5 Righteousness will be a belt around His loins;
faithfulness will be a belt around His waist.
6 The wolf will live with the lamb,
and the leopard will lie down with the goat.
The calf, the young lion, and the fatling will be together,
and a child will lead them.
7 The cow and the bear will graze,
their young ones will lie down together,
and the lion will eat straw like the ox.
8 An infant will play beside the cobra’s pit,
and a toddler will put his hand into a snake’s den.
9 None will harm or destroy another
on My entire holy mountain,
for the land will be as full
of the knowledge of the Lord
as the sea is filled with water.

I know that was a lot to read. But it helps paint this picture. For it is also twofold.
One is that this little phrase at the beginning of verse 1. That a shoot will grow up from the line of Jesse. That word shoot is the definition for the name Nazareth. It could also be known as shoot town. And out of this little town one would come to reign in righteousness. And He would fulfill something now and again one day. But it also says that a branch from his roots will bear fruit. Did you know that Jesus taught a valuable lesson about branches attached to the main vine or root. And how that they will know that you are disciples from your fruit. How you love one another. (John 15:1-8) Interesting indeed that a branch would keep growing.
The second part is that Jesus will return one day. And when He does there will be a change to order of things that we know and understand here and now. But until then we are to be apart of that branch attached to the root.
But as you notice this young man sitting up a little higher, it is to resemble the ledge of the cliff in Nazareth that overlooked all the trade routes to the rest of the world. Nazareth was also located on a geographical trade route where trade from Africa, Europe, and Asia would cross this corridor to go to their destination.
I could only imagine that just as Jesus did many times in the Gospels where he would withdraw to a quiet place to pray, that He learned this as a young man, long before He was identified as Savior of the world. I could see Him withdrawing to cliff and looking down at all the different people coming and going on their different journeys. But Jesus was looking at all the ones that He was going to save.

The same way He looked at them is the same way He looks at you! But it was not a cheap price to pay for you to know Him in a way that would define the rest of your eternity, starting now!
